After four weeks of exploration and refining our ideas during the Festival of Design Development, we have reached an exciting milestone—our detailed design concept!
Design Concepts:
While we detected multiple linked problems within our problem space “water consumption in agriculture”, we managed to design a concept that changes the way we use water to irrigate in a groundbreaking way. To implement this, we will work on three different but interlinked concepts.
AquaLink: Our approach to secure smart and equal water outtake from water sources is AquaLink. It connects all water level sensors to one big data base, which detects from which soruce water can be taken from in the most efficient and sustainable way.
AgriFlow: Interlinked with AquaLink our application AgriFlow provides an optimal overview for the farmer. It provides all kinds of information regarding agriculture like weather forecasts and works with sensors that display soil mosture. With this data AgriFlow calculates the perfect time for you to irrigate, which you can also start directly from home!
TerraBot: The most efficient way to irrigate is drip irrigation. However it very time consuming in maintenance, because it needs to be removed every season to plough the ground. But not anymore. With our invention TerraBot the hoses can remain in the ground and our self driving ploughing bot does the work. It covers the hose and ploughs the surrounding area!

Highlight of the Week
This weeks highlight was our presentation. We were given the opportunity to display the work of the past few weeks and had a very enrichening discussion afterwards. This helped a lot to stay motivated and narrow our design thinking minds down to the essential ideas! Also we are deeply in 3D-fever, you need something 3D printed? Come to us!
As we move forward,we will head into the last chapter of this journey and will get to the Design Freeze soon! See you und Auf Wiedersehen!
