This week, the Oceans5 team finished their opportunity cards. This came after meticulous exploration of New York State’s water quality issues. It was interesting to find many human and animal water concerns in an ostensibly developed and clean area. In other words, there are many water quality issues in the USA despite it being recognized as a developed nation! We also found that the complexity of water, particularly as a medium for other materials, presented an interesting challenge for us.
So far, Week 3’s suggestions and pointers from subject matter experts came to fruition: 21 opportunity cards were created referencing many academic works focusing on both the regional and national levels. We all presented and discussed our opportunity cards to the team- receiving helpful suggestions along the way. We feel ready to tackle CBI CERN and can’t wait to meet the other teams (the videos are great)!
